Travel & Transport

Travelling to Blackpool by Road:

Blackpool is a reasonably well sign-posted destination once on the M6 motorway (north & southbound). The key is to seek out junction 32 and take the M55, which will eventually lead into the heart of town – follow sign for ‘Town Centre / The Tower’ taking Yeadon Way once the motorway ends.

Those using SatNav should perhaps enter the post code for the hosting venue – The Winter Gardens – FY1 1HW, or the address of their accommodation if making a weekend of it, which we would heartily recommend considering the Pre-Party on Friday 17th August plus the after show party taking revellers into Sunday..

However, even though the main access area to the venue is pedestrianised, there are several Pay-and-Display car parks as well as ticket entry car parks around the centre of the town.

There are various resources setting out the location of car parks and some with an indication of parking fees;

Visitors staying overnight would be advised to book accommodation centrally to walk to the event, or on the promenade which is serviced by the tram system. The Winter Gardens complex is a couple of blocks inland from the promenade, a 7-8 minute walk.

Travelling to Blackpool by Rail:

Blackpool North railway station is within walking distance (10-12 minutes) of the venue, though there is invariably taxis available at the station.

While Blackpool is serviced by local branch line services (covering Blackpool North, Blackpool South, Blackpool Pleasure Beach) travellers from further afield may need to change at Preston to reach Blackpool by rail.

Parties Travelling by Coach:

Clubs and other organised groups (whether by way of a ‘day trip’ or over night stays) travelling by coach would be advised to use a reputable company who will be aware of the one-way system and large vehicle restrictions in the centre of Blackpool – they will also be aware of legitimate parking facilities for their vehicles.

Travelling by Air:

Attendees from yet further afield travelling by air will need to seek out best options from their departure point. Nearest commercial airports are;

Manchester = 58 miles / 92Km
Liverpool John Lennon = 62 miles / 99Km
Leeds Bradford = 71 miles / 114Km

Blackpool Taxis:

We would recommend anyone travelling by taxi around the town, from rail station to venue/accommodation, hotel to venue, etc., ensure they use a liveried taxi operated by one of the many reputable firms.

Post-show, there is a taxi rank on the edge of the pedestrianised area outside the main entrance to the venue (turn right, 1-2 minute walk).
